A warm congratulations to Captain Georgina Sutton who was appointed Chief Pilot for Jetstar Australia and New Zealand this month. Captain Sutton is one of few women in the world to hold this role at a major airline. Captain Sutton has been part of the McCarthy Mentoring Women@Qantas Program for two years. She is mentored by Wendy McCarthy AO and is a mentor for several women at Qantas.
Prior to becoming Jetstar’s Chief Pilot, Qantas appointed Ms Sutton as the fleet captain for the Boeing 767, overseeing about 180 pilots, making her the first woman to hold such a high position in a major Australian airline.
