McCarthy Mentoring is delighted to announce Licia Heath, CEO, Women for Election as the recipient of our 2025 Not for Profit Executive Mentoring Scholarship.
Licia Heath is driven by the mission to inspire and equip more women, of all backgrounds, to run for public office and build gender parity across all levels of government in Australia.
On receipt of the award Licia says, “I am excited to strengthen my own leadership skills whilst identifying future areas of opportunity for Women for Election, ultimately increasing our impact and contribution to Australia’s democratic processes.”
“Driving change in the NFP space can be hard. Whilst it’s incredibly rewarding, the capacity constraints that exist in the for-purpose sector means an NFP CEO needs to exhibit creativity and grit in equal measures, regardless of the issues of the day”.
“Throw politics in the mix, and the need for wise counsel is a must! “
Now in its 12th year, the McCarthy Mentoring Scholarship offers a 10 month Executive Mentoring Program and a Hogan Leadership Assessment to gain insights into strengths, values and development opportunities.
Licia has been matched with Kathy Townsend, former Head of the Australian Government’s Office for Women, executive recruitment business founder, Deputy Chancellor and McCarthy Mentoring mentor.
Sophie says “Finally in 2025 Australia’s cabinet and parliament reflect our community, in terms of gender. This has been a significant achievement and groups such as Women for Election play an important role in building this pipeline of talented future women candidates across parties”.
“Licia is an impressive, smart and determined leader and the Scholarship is our way of investing in Australia’s brave leaders and change makers. The future looks bright”.
