Australian Institute of Company Directors - AICD
AICD is Australia's pre-eminent organisation for directors, dedicated to making a difference in the quality of governance and directorship. The organisation features education courses, a monthly Company Directors journal, recognition through the use of AICD's post-nominals, and extensive networking opportunities through many events, courses and conferences. If you are a CEO, Managing Director, non-executive director, an individual reporting to a board or an individual aspiring to join a board then AICD membership will provide you the opportunity to connect with the director world. Membership eligibility ranges from Affiliates (individuals that are interested in the affairs of AICD and aspire to become full members of AICD but do not meet the full membership requirements) to Fellow (individuals who have completed the Company Directors Course and have had five years experience as a senior executive accountable to the board). Women On Boards - WOB
Women on Boards is a non-profit national program to improve the gender balance on Australian company boards. The network has many qualified, female executives from all sectors and industries. If you are a female executive looking for a board career, this is the association for you. WOB partners with many professional women’s organisations as well as the corporate, government, not-for-profit and sports sectors to hold events and regularly notifies their members of current board availabilities across Australia. Young Presidents Organisation – YPO
YPO is a non-profit global network of young chief executives. It is a peer-based leadership organisation with a focus on education and idea exchange. This network is ideal for young Entrepreneurs, Directors of a Family Business, and young professionals as it offers network, forums and educational sessions that specifically target young ‘presidents’. To qualify for YPO membership, business leaders must be under the age of 45 and must be the chief operator of a company that fulfils minimum size and complexity criteria.
